We measure each flue tile and the crown, check the crown's condition, and confirm the cap style that fits your chimney and your weather.

You get the exact cap, material and price in writing before any work begins. If the crown or flashing needs attention too, you see it in the same estimate.
4. Install & Anchor
The cap is anchored to the flue tile or crown with masonry-rated hardware, the mesh is checked, and the old cap and debris leave with us.
5. Photo Confirmation
You get photos of the finished installation from the roof, so you can see exactly what is protecting your chimney without climbing up yourself.

Yes. An open flue lets in rain, snow, animals and debris. Water is the single biggest cause of chimney damage, and a cap is the cheapest protection the chimney has — far less expensive than repairing a water-damaged liner or rusted damper later.
A cap covers the flue opening itself. A chase cover is the metal top on a factory-built (prefab) chimney chase. Many homes need both — we check which type of chimney you have and fit the right parts.
Yes, when it has proper mesh screening and is anchored correctly. The screen blocks squirrels, birds and raccoons while letting smoke and exhaust out. If animals are already inside, we remove the nest and blockage first.
Stainless steel and powder-coated caps typically last decades. Thin galvanized hardware-store caps can rust through in a few years, which is why we do not install them.
