Step 1 — Know the Signs

Three Signs Your Chimney Is Overdue for a Sweep

Creosote builds quietly. It coats the flue a little more with every fire until the chimney stops drawing properly — and until one hot enough fire sets it alight. These are the warnings homeowners notice first.

Smoke Rolls Back Into the Room

Smoke Rolls Back Into the Room

A flue narrowed by creosote or blocked by a nest can't pull smoke up. If your room hazes over when you light a fire, the chimney is telling you it's full.

Black, Tarry or Flaky Buildup

Black, Tarry or Flaky Buildup

Shine a light up the flue. Crusty black flakes or shiny tar on the walls is creosote — the single biggest cause of chimney fires in American homes.

Campfire Smell or Animal Noises

Campfire Smell or Animal Noises

A strong smoky odor on humid days means creosote is soaking up moisture. Scratching or chirping means something has moved into your flue.

Recognize any of these? A $99 sweep clears it — and we'll show you the photos.

Serving Dallas, Texas and the surrounding area

Called about raccoons getting into the chimney. They installed a new stainless cap the same week. Quick, clean, and the captain explained how to keep it maintained. Highly recommend.

Water was coming in around our chimney every time it rained. Captain found the cracked crown and bad flashing, explained everything clearly, and fixed it in one visit. Not a drop since.

FAQs

Chimney Sweep Questions

Ask us anything before you book — including whether you actually need the service yet. We'll tell you straight.

(682) 217-3577

A standard chimney sweep is a flat $99. If you'd like the flue documented in detail at the same visit, a standard inspection is $59 and a full Level 2 camera inspection is $79. You know the price before we arrive — there are no travel fees or add-ons.

Once a year for any chimney that gets used, and more often if you burn wood most days through the winter. Gas fireplaces still need an annual check — blockages, animal nests and liner damage happen whether you burn wood or not.

Most sweeps take 60 to 90 minutes from the moment we lay down drop cloths to the final walkthrough. Heavy creosote or glaze buildup can take longer, and we tell you before we start if that's the case.

No. We seal the fireplace opening, cover the hearth and surrounding floor, and run a HEPA vacuum throughout the job. Soot is captured at the source, and we vacuum the area again before we leave.

Creosote is the tar-like residue left behind when wood smoke cools in the flue. It is highly flammable, and a thick enough layer can ignite into a chimney fire that spreads to the structure. Sweeping removes it — that's the whole point of the service.

Sweeping cleans; inspecting tells you the condition of the liner, crown, cap and damper. Most homeowners book both once a year, and we bundle them so you're not paying for two separate visits.

Yes — a 10% Heroes Discount for military members, veterans, police, firefighters, EMTs and seniors 65+. Mention it when you book.
